Each year viable groups spring up and serve their BDSM community. However due to budget constraints they are unable to afford a web presence for their club. They opt for an e-group on one of the public servers such as Yahoo or Google. As a club forum, this works but having both a web site and egroup would be better.

A web site goes further. The web site serves its members by centralizing club information, upcoming calendars and special events. It also serves as an access point for new people coming into the area who may wish to become part of their local BDSM community.

A web site is an important tool for BDSM clubs. The downside is hosting fees can be cost prohibitive.

The Council of Tribes’ Web-Net project hopes to address this issue by providing free web hosting to smaller groups who wish to have a wider web presence.

The Web-Grant project provides:

1) Free website hosting for smaller clubs and organizations
2) Basic web design work for groups at no cost
3) Access to other educational web services

These web sites are not owned by the Council of Tribes nor are they a part of larger website - simply offering pages to clubs. These web sites are true stand alone web sites, fully owned by the clubs themselves
